The Tone Bender was Britain’s answer to the FZ-1, and it quickly became a cornerstone of the fuzz family. Used by Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, its snarling, aggressive tone defined mid-’60s rock. Later revisions (Mk II, Mk III, Mk IV) each spun off their own descendants. The Mk II circuit directly inspired the Colorsound Fuzz, while the Mk III introduced a tone control that influenced the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff. Modern boutique fuzzes like the Analogman Sunbender and JHS Bender are direct homages.
