The OCD’s MOSFET clipping and touch sensitivity made it a modern classic, and its design borrowed elements from both the Tube Screamer and Boss OD-1 while aiming for more amp-like realism. It launched a wave of “boutique amp-in-a-box” pedals, inspiring the JHS Morning Glory, Wampler Pantheon, and countless others. Its widespread adoption also helped establish Fulltone as one of the first big boutique pedal companies, paving the way for modern builders like EarthQuaker and Walrus.
