LPB-1

The LPB-1 (Linear Power Booster) was just a single transistor, but it changed everything by demonstrating how powerful simple boost circuits could be. It pushed amps into natural overdrive and inspired countless clean boosts like the MXR Micro Amp and ZVEX Super Hard-On. More importantly, its philosophy, amplifying and clipping the signal in a small circuit, is directly behind nearly every overdrive pedal, including the Tube Screamer and Klon. Without the LPB-1, the overdrive family tree might not exist at all.
