Big Muff Pi

Few pedals are as iconic as the Big Muff. Its cascading clipping stages created endless sustain and massive walls of sound. Gilmour, Santana, and Billy Corgan all used different versions, each becoming a touchstone tone. Its descendants are legion: Sovtek/Russian Muffs, NYC reissues, Op-Amp Big Muff, boutique takes like Wren and Cuff’s Tall Font Russian, and EarthQuaker’s Hoof (a hybrid of Big Muff and Tone Bender). The Big Muff is the root ancestor of nearly every high-gain fuzz.
