The EarthQuaker Devices Ghost Echo is a vintage-voiced reverb pedal that emulates classic amp-top spring reverbs, offering a range of sounds from subtle slapback delays to immersive, ambient echoes. It features controls for Attack (pre-delay), Dwell (decay), and Depth (wet/dry mix) for detailed sound shaping. With a focus on a haunting, unique character, this pedal provides a dark, warm reverb with elements of delay, perfect for atmospheric soundscapes and a ghostly, ethereal experience.
You hear that EVP, bud? It’s the all new, extra spook-tacular, Ghost Echo calling out from beyond the void! The Ghost Echo is our spooky take on the haunted* amp-top spring reverberation units of yesteryear. This creepy analog/digital spring reverb emulation machine boasts a terrifying 30ms – 150ms of pre-delay, controllable via the Attack knob, for everything from a quick rockabilly slapback to viscous pools of ectoplasmic reverberations. When playing staccato, you’ll hear the tortured trails of the reverb, resulting in more of a slapback or echo sound. Legato playing will reveal a massive ambient “depth” that fattens up the sound – and look out, it’s right behind you!
Guitarists praised the Ghost Echo for its unique, haunting character, with many finding it perfect for ambient and atmospheric soundscapes. Users found it easy to control despite its unique features and were particularly impressed with the range of tones, from subtle reverb to spooky, ethereal effects. Some reviewers noted its build quality and intuitive controls.
