Though dismissed at launch, the HM-2’s “chainsaw” sound was rediscovered in Sweden and became the defining tone of death metal. Its extreme EQ shaping, maxing all knobs for buzzsaw grind, became legendary. It spawned clones like the Lone Wolf Left Hand Wrath and HM-2-style pedals from companies like Waza Craft, EQD, and JHS. Few pedals have had such a dramatic rebirth.
